What makes a composer “emerging?”
Emerging composers are at the beginning of something new. You might be in high school writing your first notes, or a mid-career music teacher with ideas you need to get out there! Emerging composers also include experienced composers who are delving into a new ensemble type or who are writing educational music for the first time after years of writing for the pros. There are no age or experience limits to learning something new.
