Erin Eberhart

ERIN EBERHART

Erin Eberhardt is a multi-instrumentalist and music educator from the Adirondacks. She is a recent graduate of the Berklee College of Music, where she studied education, marimba, and how to best serve students with special needs. Erin’s goal as a music teacher is to provide customized instruction, driven by student created goals.

Erin’s music making began early with piano lessons at the age of eight, and became a passion for life. From brass to string instruments, she is constantly learning new things. Conducting, teaching, and helping others express themselves through music are ways that she hopes to connect with people.

Erin is a proficient pianist, percussionist, and horn player. She prefers to perform classical music, but is passionate about teaching popular styles of music. She can often be seen learning new instruments through playing in bands with her students. Her wish is that students will play the genres that they are most interested in.  Erin specializes in private lessons, songwriting, and teaching rock bands. She also has plenty of experience in teaching beginning band instruments, and has done so for both Somerville Public Schools, and a United Sound band for adults on the autism spectrum. As her lessons are customized to the student, she enjoys teaching anyone, and has a plethora of strategies to engage students with diverse needs.

Erin specializes in teaching music to students with diverse needs. She started teaching a United Sound chapter in 2016, and has been using the arts to unite people since then. That chapter of United Sound has performed on stage with the Boston Pops and the Lexington Community Orchestra. Erin also works extensively with the Berklee Institute for Arts Education and Special Needs. She teaches private lessons, rock band, and builds curriculum to best suit a wide range of students. In September, Erin started working with United Sound to add a general music class to their programming, called Play With US! Play With US reaches schools around the country to bring joy and music to self contained special education classrooms. Through these programs, Erin has seen music as the driving force to build relationships, learn new skills, and create a chance for self expression.
